Welcome to Journei Beyond!
Hello and welcome to Journei Beyond! These past few months have been rather rough for all of us. I know some of us have experienced the loss of employment, security and stability, or maybe a loved one. These uncertain times bring a multitude of unanswered questions and a questionable future. The changes we are experiencing as a nation, as a community, as a family, are overwhelming. But in these times of need, we have also grown closer to our families and our children. Social distancing has perhaps pushed us in a place we would have otherwise not have been. The checks and balances of our reality has come full circle in this crisis. Realizing and understanding, what is truly important and what we value and cherish in our lives has been paramount.
Being quarantined has affected people in many different ways. Some revel in the opportunity to have much-needed time off, while others are bored out of their minds. Watching people participate in outdoor activities, such as biking, jogging, or playing in the park, has never been such a commonality in such great numbers, as it is now. Some of us have discovered new hobbies or have rekindled the passion for old ones. The creative side of our minds have sprung to life. One of my favorite hobbies is paper crafting. I love to make cards, paint, stamp, sew, and embroider. Exploring that type of creativity, and creating something from an idea inspired by something I’ve seen or experienced, is invigorating for me.
And so I dare ask fellow readers, what has this quarantine brought to you? Has fear, stress and worry eaten at you? Do you feel as you have lost your way in this unpredictable maze of uncertainty? Or have you rediscovered yourself, have you been awakened to what you value most in your life? Have you expounded on your current hobbies or have you fallen in love with any new ones?
